The American Gaming Association’s recent study into the damage created by unregulated betting machines estimates that Pennsylvania houses roughly 67,000 illegal machines across the state. The unregulated machines costs Pennsylvania untold millions in lost taxes annually.

After a rash of incidents of adults leaving children in vehicles outside the state’s casinos while they gamble, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has moved to crack down on the problem.

In a surprise move, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) decided to re-open the petition period for casino operators located outside the state to enter Pennsylvania’s expanding online gaming market.

Bally’s Pennsylvania made the move this week to expand their gaming reach in the Keystone State by filing an application to offer online slots and table games to Pennsylvania’s iGaming customers.

52 year-old Jason Richard Kutney of Bear Creek, an electronic craps dealer at the Mohegan is accused of pressing a button on the game early allowing casino player, Louis Attilo Grasso, 66, to see the final numbers on the dice before placing his final bet.

With a recent study showing that only 14% of Pennsylvania adults smoke tobacco regularly, Rep. Frankel reintroduced his legislative measure to repeal the exemption and ban smoking from all gaming locations.

Pennsylvania’s iGaming market opened in June 2019. The NCPG report shows state regulators have successfully prevented problem gambling on a wide scale by implementing guidelines that help players receive all the information they need before making a wager.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s recent decision to award Bally’s and their parent company, SC Gaming, the contract for a Category 4 mini-casino in College Township could land the regulatory group in the crosshairs of Pennsylvania’s highest court.

Both gentleman say that the casino began using a time clock that would register only 7 hours and 45 minutes when they clocked out after a shift lasting over eight hours. The casino then forced their employees to work uncompensated for other duties including card and dice inventories, jackpot payments, and training sessions.

To clarify and remove any possible confusion for Pennsylvania bettors, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board told the state’s sports books they can no longer use the term “free bet” in their marketing.
