NBA Picks & Parlay of the Weekend | April 20-21

Highlights

  • The Nuggets are set to win, with Jokic having a big game
  • It's a toss-up between the Knicks and 76ers at Madison Square Garden
  • Boston should cruise to victory against the Butler-less Miami Heat on Sunday

To say this week in the NBA was one for the history books is an understatement. To start the week, we saw Caitlin Clark make history as the WNBA's first overall pick for the Indiana Fever. And we may have finally seen the death of the Golden State Warrior dynasty. We even saw Coban Porter get a lifetime ban for illegal sports betting. But, don't you worry. The sports betting tips and parlays are all perfectly legal from our NBA sports betting experts at Play-Pennsylvania. The weekend is here, and the playoff and play-in matchups are set, so let's get those winning bets going.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets Best Bet: Nuggets -7 | -110 at FanDuel

To say that Michael Porter Jr. is going through a trying week is an understatement. Earlier, his brother saw his brother's NBA career go up in smoke with a permanent ban. Just like his teammates are rallying behind him, FanDuel Sportsbook is rallying behind Denver to win their playoff opener against Lebron and Anthony Davis with 290 moneyline odds. In our opinion, we feel comfortable with this state, and we hope that Jokic and the company will win the spread bet as well. The Nuggets enter this Saturday showdown 57-25 for moneyline bets. If you're looking for the closest thing to a sure bet for same-game parlays, picking Jokic, Lebron, and Anthony Davis to score 25 or more points are sound 3-leg same-game parlays.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks Best Bet: Knicks -3 | -112 at DraftKings

Even though premier online sports bookies like DraftKings Sportsbook are picking the 76ers as the favorite to win the spread, in our opinion, this is a toss-up. Historically, the Knicks have been playoff duds since the Patrick Ewing era ended in 2000. Also, Joel Embiid and the 76ers enter Madison Square Garden on a roll and on the radar of sports betting in Pennsylvania.

Philly has a decent record of 48-34-1 for successful spread bets and a similar 48-35 record for moneyline bets. By the way, DraftKings has Philadelphia as the underdog to win the straight-up bet at +130 odds. The Knicks enter Saturday's contest having won 70% of the money spread bets, so you can expect the Garden to be rocking with the familiar chants of "Defence" that led to championship banners in the 1970s.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics Best Bet: Celtics -14 | -110 at Caesars Sportsbook

When you check the best sports betting apps, you'll find a similar stat line. In other words, it's a smart bet to go with Caesars Sportsbook's odds of the Celtics beating down the Miami Heat this Sunday. Right now, the Celtics are at a solid 1100 odds as the favorite to win the moneyline, and you get no argument here. If you feel the Celtics will blow Miami out, you can pad your bankroll with the margin bet that they will win by 10-12 points at +675 odds. But if you feel that Miami will come to play, with perhaps Jimmy Butler out of the lineup from an ankle injury, it's hard to go wrong with Boston winning a nail bitter with a three-point or less margin of victory at +1100 odds.
