The road to the 2023 Super Bowl begins on Saturday for the Philadelphia Eagles, as the top seed in the NFC and one of the favorites to win the NFL crown, takes on their NFC East divisional opponent, the New York Giants.

The PA online sports betting market has installed the Eagles as 7.5-point favorites as they play at home for the ninth time in 2022. Philly won six of their eight home games this season, including their final regular season game of the season, a 22-16 win over the New York Giants.

The biggest news heading into this NFC Divisional Playoff matchup comes from the Eagles as the team prepares to welcome back their All-Pro tackle Lane Johnson from injury. Since Johnson’s debut in 2014, the Eagles are 13-22 all-time when missing the 10-year veteran.

Starting QB Jalen Hurts also gets a two-week rest on his injured shoulder, helping him get closer to 100% health as he enters his second career playoff game. Last year, Hurts threw for 258 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INT in a 31-15 opening round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Under new coach Brian Daboll, the Giants’ 2022 campaign has been nothing short of a miracle. Not only has Daboll resurrected QB Daniel Jones’ career, but the coach went into Minnesota and defeated the Vikings on their home turf 31-24 for an NFC Wild Card Round victory.

Philadelphia comes into their divisional matchup enjoying the first week bye that gives them two weeks of rest before they take on the Giants on Saturday evening.

The Eagles covered their first matchup against New York in mid-December, winning 48-22 over the Giants, after being anointed a 7-point favorite by Pennsylvania’s top sportsbooks, including FanDuel and DraftKings.

The Eagles failed to cover a 16.5-point spread in their final game against the Giants on January 8th of this year as they won by a score of 22-16 over New York.

If you are looking for a standout bet in the season ledger of these two NFC East, it comes from the Giants. New York has covered the spread in a whopping seven of the eight games this season as the underdog.

The Giants also posted a 6-3 ATS record in their 2022 games following a win and 4-2 ATS in games against the NFC East.
