The big Eagles news hit Monday as word hit the street that NFL MVP candidate Jalen Hurts sprained his shoulder in the Eagles’ 25-20 win over the Chicago Bears. Without Hurts, the Eagles are in danger of losing their first road game of 2022.

In his place, Philadelphia will start Gardner Minshew, who has played in three games this season, although his last start came on January 8th of this year. Minshew was defeated by Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys 51-26. The Philly backup QB threw for 186 yards and two TDs in the loss.

Earlier this season, the Eagles defeated the Cowboys 26-17.

Eagles vs. Cowboys Betting Notes

Eagles +6
46 Over/Under Point Total
Moneyline: Eagles (+210), Cowboys (-250)

Expect the Eagles to lean on their top-tier offensive line in this game without Hurts. Philadelphia’s run game ranks 4th overall with 158.6 yards per contest, while Dallas’ defense ranks 24th in the NFL against the rush, allowing 133.1 rushing yards per game.

With a slow-paced game script expected due to the Hurts’ injury, PA Online Sports Betting bookmakers have lowered the overall over/under point total of the game from 51 to 46 points.

Another thing to consider for bettors, the Eagles have struggled mightily to cover the point spread on the road, posting a 2-5 record ATS. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have posted a stellar 3-0 record ATS after a loss and are 4-2 as a home favorite this season.

Las Vegas Raiders vs Pittsburgh Steelers (-3)

After defeating the Carolina Panthers on the road 24-13, the Pittsburgh Steelers, using a combination of hard-nosed running and stiff defense, have crawled back into the AFC playoff picture.

Currently, the Steelers, with a record of 6-8, sit with the 12th seed, so they’ll need a little help getting into the top seven in the AFC to advance to the postseason. With three games remaining in 2022, the Steelers will have to win out and then will need help from teams such as the Los Angeles Chargers, New York Jets, and New England Patriots.

With Mitch Trubisky under center for the Steelers, Pittsburgh ran the ball effectively against the Panthers last Sunday. Running 68 total plays, the Steelers gained 325 total yards on offense with 156 coming on the ground. Las Vegas enters the game against Pittsburgh ranked 15th defensively against the run.

Their first game of the remaining trio comes at home against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders, coming off an improbable 30-24 win over the Patriots, have struggled on the road against the spread this season, posting a 3-5 record.
