  • Parx Casino announces plans to build hotel at their Bensalem casino
  • Fanatics planning purchase of ParxBet app to enter Pennsylvania market

Parx Casino's expansion in the Pennsylvania gaming market took a significant step forward as the company announced the opening of a new casino and the approval to build a new hotel at their Bensalem location.

The announcements arrive as rumors swirl Parx Casino could sell their sports betting app to Fanatics, with money from the sale allowing the company to expand its gaming reach in Pennsylvania.

Parx Casino officially opened the 17th casino in Pennsylvania with the arrival of their mini-casino in Shippensburg on January 26th. The 73,000-square-foot location offers close to 550 machines for slots and 50 electronic table games for customers, similar to online blackjack

After testing by the Pennsylvania Gaming Board, Parx Casino received approval to officially open the doors on their Shippensburg location.

Parx Casino Announces New Hotel Addition to Their Bensalem Casino Location

With the Shippensburg location officially open, Parx Casino moved onto future business with the announcement they received zoning approval to build a hotel at their Bensalem casino.

After announcing plans to build the hotel in early 2021, Parx Casino received approval in late December 2022 from the city's Township Building and Planning Director Ken Farrall.

However, recent changes to the plans for the hotel by Parx Casino mean the casino company will need the city council's approval before the company can begin construction.

Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo expects the new plans to receive approval from the council at their February meeting quickly.

Parx Casino plans to build a 15-story hotel for visitors to their Bensalem location.

Fanatics' Purchase of ParxBet Could Revamp Company's Entire Gaming Business

With rumors of Fanatics looking to expand their sportsbook app into 20 states before the beginning of the 2023 NFL season, discussions for the sports merchandising giant to purchase ParxBet, Parx Casino's PA online sports betting app, continue to finalize.

In addition to Pennsylvania, purchasing ParxBet helps Fanatics enter the crowded sports betting market in Michigan and New Jersey. Fanatics will also acquire Parx Casino's online casino app, helping them broaden their revenue sources in the iGaming field.

If Fanatics purchases ParxBet, Parx Casino could focus its resources on growing its physical casino business in Pennsylvania with more construction, like the hotel at Bensalem.
